Dad and Son

Hey everyone! I know I have been missing from the blog for quite some time now. I came across this very touching story and would love to share it with all of you! Enjoy yea!

A man came home from work late, tired and irritated, to find his 5-year old son waiting for him at the door.

SON: 'Daddy, may I ask you a question?'

DAD: 'Yeah sure, what it is?' replied the man.

SON: 'Daddy, how much do you make an hour?'

DAD: 'That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?' the man said angrily.

SON: 'I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?'

DAD: 'If you must know, I make $50 an hour.'

SON: 'Oh,' the little boy replied, with his head down.

SON: 'Daddy, may I please borrow $25?'

The father was furious, 'If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I don't work hard everyday for such childish frivolities.'

The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door.

The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money?

After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down , and started to think:

Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $25.00 and he really didn't ask for money very often The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door.

'Are you asleep, son?' He asked.

'No daddy, I'm awake,' replied the boy.

'I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier' said the man. 'It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $25 you asked for.'

The little boy sat straight up, smiling. 'Oh, thank you daddy!' he yelled. Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills.

The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again.

The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father.

'Why do you want more money if you already have some?' the father grumbled.

'Because I didn't have enough, but now I do,' the little boy replied.

'Daddy, I have $50 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.'

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness.

It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $50 worth of your time with someone you love.

If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of hours. But the family & friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives.

Hospital ordered to pay $260,000 after removing man's single healthy testicle

A COURT has ordered a hospital in northern Italy to pay 180,000 euro ($262,716) to a man after surgeons removed a healthy testicle in error.

The plaintiff, who was 27 at the time of the operation in 2004, had a tumour in the left testicle but the healthy one was removed, the Arena di Verona newspaper reported.

The surgeons quickly realised their mistake and removed the left testicle as well, the report said.

Comment: Oh my god, I bet the guy will be so so sad over his lost. The surgeons should be alert at all times while carrying out surgery as wrong moves done are reversible. Like how can they replace another testicle for him?? Moral of the story: We should always be alert and serious while doing our work. Lets not let our carelessness affect others. =)

Heaviest Person in Thailand

A 274 kilogram woman believed to be the heaviest person in Thailand managed to leave her apartment for the first time by using a forklift and aid from Bangkok city hall.
She whom weight approximately like a grand piano weight was confined in her apartment as it was difficult to walk. Fortunately for her, she was able to walk a little just enough to go to the loo. During the process of taking her out from the apartment, she was rolled down to the corridor to a nearby empty apartment where workers had torn down an inner wall to allow her entry and demolished a section of the building's facade to take her outside. Upon seeing her neighbours cheering for her, Ms Umnuayporn smiled and flashed a "V" for victory as she was lowered from the apartment by an elevator constructed outside. A forklift then transferred her to a waiting ambulance that took her to a Bangkok hospital. She was expected to undergoes a surgery to remove a tumour in her leg and reduce her weight. Ms Umnuayporn with anticipation and tears in her eyes says that she wish to visit the beach and play with water once she heals from the surgery.

Comment: WOW! Imaging yourself weight as heavy as a grand piano? That is really scary and a wonder that one can eat so much to be so heavy. Ok..back to the topic, by reading this article, we can deduced that obesity is a matter not to be taken lightly. The ramification of being obese are detrimental to people. Relative of the obese individuals are burdened as they have to assist obese person to anywhere. Besides, the individuals themselves are restricted to go anywhere or carry out any activities as they are immobilize. Moreover, obesity leads to many other diseases such as thyroids, heart attack, high blood pressure and diabetes. To conclude, we have to take care of ourselves and not eat too much without exercising. We also have to eat healthily. Say no to obesitY! =)

Tiger cub found among stuffed toys in Bangkok luggage

The Thai national was trying to board a flight to Iran but had difficulty with a large bag at check-in.

X-rays aroused suspicions among airport staff who believed they had seen an image resembling a real animal.

Wildlife officers were then called in and discovered the tranquilised cub.

Chris Shepherd, South-East Asia deputy regional director for Traffic, said: "We applaud all the agencies that came together to uncover this brazen smuggling attempt."

But he also called for regular monitoring and harsher penalties.

"If people are trying to smuggle live tigers in their check-in luggage, they obviously think wildlife smuggling is something easy to get away with and do not fear reprimand," he said.

"Only sustained pressure on wildlife traffickers and serious penalties can change that."

Comment: It is really amusing to know that there are naive people who believe that they can get away by smuggling a tiger cub among the stuffed toy. If powdery drugs can get detected by authorities what more a living animal? I believe that one commit such crime due to desperation for money. Lesson to be learned in this article is we must always use our brain before acting. Besides, it is wrong to smuggle animals out of the countries.

Townsville forced to import sperm from US

Townsville Bulletin reported that Queensland, the city of Townsville has turned to US for sperm donation as an alternative as Australia faces shortage of sperm donation. Queensland Fertility Group used to rely on university students who are in need of cash to donate sperm. However, since the recent law implementation which sperm donors have to be contactable once the child they helped to conceive turns 18,all the donors stopped donating as they wouldn’t want to get involved with the child that they helped to conceive in 18 years time. Due to the critical shortage, IVF clinics are forced to be creative about attracting potential donors. IVF Australia launched an online advertising campaign with the tagline, “You’ve millions to spare, we only need one.”

A MAN has been jailed for 11 years for stabbing his friend to death in a fight sparked by a silly prank and jealousy

Tao Va, 29 years old man was sentenced to a minimum of eight years’ jail for stabbing his friend, Alexander at least three times at the chest. The incident all started when the latter dared another friend to shave Va’s head, which he did. When the former realised what had happened, he got into a fight with Mr Alexander and threatened to kill him. Then, the former went to the home of his ex-girlfriend Newhara Walton and accused her of having an affair with Mr Alexander. Mr Alexander then arrived at the flat and the fight was resumed. In the midst of anger and jealous, Va grabbed Alexander by his throat and stabbed him at least three times. Soon realising what he has done, Va asked Ms Walton to call an ambulance and said ‘I think I killed him’. Judge claimed that this offence is a serious manslaughter however Va showed his remorse for his action. It is believed this is offence is out of Va’s characters.

Comment: It is ok to make fun of other once awhile however every pranks or jokes have its limit. We as an adult should know when to stop a joke or prank. Besides, we should control our emotion still and not letting it loose as we like. Actions done in the midst of anger or jealousy are often regrettable which no sentence can repair.
