Once again, it is the time of the year where all kids anticipating to get angpau. As for me, it was just so so because i some sort knew the amount i will be able to collect. Which kills the Chinese New Year mood. Of course, CNY is not just about collecting red packets, it also involved foods, family and bonds. But i felt that as the years passed by, the CNY becomes less livelier. Less people coming back to hometown to celebrate with grandmother. Even if they came back, it was just for the sake of coming back to show face and leave the next minute after u collected the angpau's. No longer we sit down munching away the cookies and catching up the stories in our lives. I pitied my granny.. and my angpau collections.
