MORE than 1000 people have attended a memorial service for a 12-year-old schoolboy who died yesterday after being stabbed in a schoolyard.
Students, parents and friends visited St Patrick's College in northern Brisbane this morning to remember Elliot Fletcher.School board chairman Damian Gallagher said the school community was still coming to terms with what had happened."It's still very raw for us and this is a very special moment for the community," he said.Elliot, who was stabbed in the chest, died just minutes after arriving at hospital. A 13-year-old boy has been charged with murder.Nearly 3200 people joined the "RIP Elliot Fletcher" Facebook page which was set up following the shocking incident. "So young. So many opportunities you missed. But you're in a better place now. I'll see you up there mate," wrote Jacob Dare, one of hundreds of heartfelt messages from shocked friends.
But around midnight last night, sick photos began appearing on the page, showing distressing scenes of murder, race-hate, bestiality and callous messages. "Woot. I'm dead," read one message in mock spraypaint over a headshot of the 12-year-old.Another picture showed an African-American child's head on a silver platter, while another was a tasteless ad for a woodchipper. Police have removed the offensive material from the page and have said those responsible will be traced and punished.Elliot's alleged killer was yesterday escorted by police from the school to Redcliffe Hospital for treatment on self-inflicted wounds which were described as "superficial".One student on the site said a number of Year 10 students pushed past him to get a closer look at Elliot after he had been stabbed."You obviously have no sense of right or wrong. A boy's life was lost today and all you could do was make a joke of it," the student wrote.Principal Dr Michael Carroll, who delivered the news of Elliot's death to the students, said it was a "tragic loss of a young life."The first indication that something was wrong at St Patrick's College that morning was Advance Australia Fair blaring over the school speakers.The national anthem doubles as the lockdown signal at the northern Brisbane Catholic boys' school yet the reason for the security measure was one that few could have possibly imagined.
For in the school's main toilets, 12-year-old Elliot Fletcher was fatally stabbed through the chest.
His alleged attacker - a 13-year-old boy described as a straight-A student - had fled the grounds, bleeding from the neck from a self-inflicted wound and allegedly still armed with a knife he had brought to school before the 8.15am attack.
Police found him two blocks away, near a blue trailer where he had allegedly hidden the the long-bladed knife.
As students hid under desks in classrooms, paramedics tried desperately to save Elliott. He was taken to Brisbane's Royal Children's Hospital but was declared dead a short time later.
"You can't imagine what it would be like to send your 12-year-old boy to school for him never to return," Queensland Police Chief Superintendent Les Hopkins said.
The alleged offender was escorted by police to Redcliffe Hospital for treatment on his "superficial" wounds.
Police would not comment on any possible motive for the stabbing, but students said the alleged offender had been the victim of bullying and had brought a knife to school to "scare" his tormentors.
Last night, police charged the boy with murder and he will appear in court today.
Just before midday, students were ordered to assembly where principal Michael Carroll delivered the awful news of Elliott's death.
"This has been a tragic loss of a young life," Dr Carroll said.
Parents flocked to the gates of the college - described as "North Brisbane's best-kept secret" on car bumper stickers - to collect their sons, some of whom were visibly distraught.
Dhana Monks said her son was devastated to lose his friend.
"When you send them to school you think they're going to be safe," she said.
"Supt Hopkins said that Elliott's parents were "absolutely distraught". "We are still investigating if there were witnesses."
Within hours of Elliott's death, friends flocked online to a Facebook memorial page where hundreds of comments paid tribute to the budding soccer star

Critique:
It saddens me to know that school is no longer a safe place for the children. A young boy life is wasted due to implusive act of another student which was probably motivated by anger. The attacker's life is also ruined as this incident would leave a stain in his life too. Was it worth it to take anyone's life for a fight? And it angers me, to know that while people are mourning for the boy's death, people takes advantage to post sick and racist photos and comments. They should considered other people's feelings.

Northern Territory suffering from 'culture of cover-up' over child protection
OPPOSITION politicians are calling for an end to the "culture of cover-up" in the Northern Territory government, demanding the Labor administration release two wide-ranging reports that reveal the breakdown in child protection and other social services.
Country Liberals' child protection spokeswoman Jodeen Carney alleged today that the NT government's failure to release the Bath Report - details of which were recently published by The Australian - was motivated by self-interest.
“Media reports based on a leaked copy of the 2007 Bath Report indicate the decision to suppress the report was concerned with protecting the reputation of the Government, not children at risk of harm,” Ms Carney said.
The Australian obtained a copy of the Bath Report - completed in November 2007 but kept under wraps by the Territory government - and published its contents at the weekend.
The extensive reports' executive summary and recommendations were tabled in NT parliament in late 2007 but the Australian understands that even heads of department in the government were kept ignorant of its damning contents.
The report reveals case after case where children in the care of the state were exposed to great risk by the government, with several examples of avoidable tragedies occurring under the government's watch.
The audit of high-risk cases by Dr Bath revealed, among many cases, that of Aboriginal toddler John (not his real name), who was burned with boiling water, possibly deliberately, by his carer after the department of Families and Community Services ignored the concerns of a magistrate and doctors that the malnourished child should not live with his family.
It also revealed that a 17-year-old boy who fatally stabbed his carer in 2007 had not been given case management nor any support despite exhibiting extremely disturbing behaviour in the months before the stabbing.The boy, given the pseudonym Michael, had been killing and dismembering dogs in a remote community and had attacked a young girl, lacerating her scalp and partly severing a finger.
And in another case, a young Aboriginal girl was deemed “conditionally safe” despite sniffing petrol and selling sex for money and drugs in a remote town, with repeated police entreaties to take the girl into care ignored by FACS.NT child protection minister Kon Vatskalis issued a statement in response to The Australian's coverage of the crisis, denying that the report was kept hidden but refusing to release it in its entirety.Mr Vatskalis said a government inquiry into child protection that is due to begin public forums this week would “completely review and reassess the Child Protection System”.“My absolute priority is to the welfare of all children, and I will make any necessary and vigorous changes to the system to ensure their safety and wellbeing is paramount, Mr Vatskalis said.
The NT ombudsman - who was refused a copy of the 2007 Bath Report by the government and will be forced to issue a summons on Dr Bath to obtain it - has also weighed into the furore surrounding child protection.
Ombudsman Carolyn Richards has accused the government of attempting to shut down her own inquiry which is examining 35 complaints involving children in the care of FACS.Ms Richards told The Australian yesterday that she believed the official government inquiry was nothing but “a facade”.
The ombudsman also revealed she has also been denied access to another report recently drafted by Dr Bath into FACS' intake services, and believed that Dr Bath had been asked by the government to alter his report.According to Ms Richards, when she requested a copy of the intake report, Dr Bath told her office he he had been asked to “change its status”.
“All I can say is Dr Bath's words were `the minister has asked me to change the status of that report',” Ms Richards told The Australian. “He said that to one of my staff.”
Asked if she had any insight into what Dr Bath meant by “change the status” of the report, Ms Richards said she believed Dr Bath had been asked to' “make it a report that can be tabled in parliament, and not what it is.”
But Dr Bath said yesterday this was not true. “I have received no request from any minister to change a report into aspects of child protection in the Territory, nor have I made any changes.At the Minister's request I delivered him an interim progress report rather than a final report.”
The NT opposition said Ms Carney said today that it was outrageous that the government appeared to be actively obstructing the work of the ombudsman.
“It is disgraceful that the Henderson Government has systematically obstructed the Ombudsman's investigation of its dysfunctional child protection system,” Ms Carney said.“It is the role of the Ombudsman to investigate when Government systems fail; it is the obligation of Governments to facilitate those investigations.

Confusion
There has been a confusion about my zodiac sign. I used to think that i am born in the year of sheep but my parents insisted that i am born in the year of horse. Well, technically by following the western calendar, 1991 i am borned in the year of sheep. But since i am borned on 2nd January 1991 which according to chinese calendar, i am borned in the year of horse since CNY is always fall on the end of Jan or early Feb. That's sucks. CNY
Once again, it is the time of the year where all kids anticipating to get angpau. As for me, it was just so so because i some sort knew the amount i will be able to collect. Which kills the Chinese New Year mood. Of course, CNY is not just about collecting red packets, it also involved foods, family and bonds. But i felt that as the years passed by, the CNY becomes less livelier. Less people coming back to hometown to celebrate with grandmother. Even if they came back, it was just for the sake of coming back to show face and leave the next minute after u collected the angpau's. No longer we sit down munching away the cookies and catching up the stories in our lives. I pitied my granny.. and my angpau collections.

A week In Hostel
I know this supposed to be out long ago, but now only I posted this out. Haha cant blame me, no internet connection in my room during my stay at hostel. It sucks to not able to online but I was strong and endured it for one week. (chewa) . Yep, u read it clearly, my room… hostel room E3-29.. Einstein Block, third floor. I stayed there for one week. Why one week? My parents were away holidaying, nobody was available to send me to college and spongebob Michelle cant drive herself to college, that’s why. I started staying at hostel on Tuesday night. Though I do not want to admit, I think I am the spoiled type. Haha stayed there for one week but I brought so many stuffs there. More than what I brought when I went to NS. So embarrassing to carry so many stuffs there but luckily no one knew me and I was there for only one week. The room was ok? I guess.. haha one thing for sure it was way cleaner than my own room. =P Though.. I hate walking to the toilet. (Not attached toilet) It was like another end from my room. So far away and as you walk, you can hear your own footstep. (very loud- like as if you are damn fat like that) Toilet was ok too.. it is always clean and not so wet.

The pantry is nearby my room too. There are good and bad to it. The good things are I can always wash my face, cups and take water anytime I want. The bad thing is whenever people eating there, THEY ARE SO BLOODY NOISY. They talked to each other like people at wet market bargaining prices loudly.

Other than that, no complain at all. I kinda like my privacy and extra time staying in hostel (in the short run) –not too sure in the long run, I would like it or not.
But, Block E was kinda far.. haha. I might burned more calories and lose some weight if only I can stop buying junk foods.

Something about Ace:
Portgas D. Ace (born Gol D. Ace) was the adopted older brother of Monkey D. Luffy and son of the late Pirate King, Gol D. Roger and his lover, Portgas D. Rouge. He was adopted by Garp by request of Gol D. Roger before his birth. He was the Second Division Commander of the Whitebeard Pirates and onetime captain of the Spade Pirates before his untimely death
Ace wore an open-front shirt until he received Whitebeard's tattoo - afterwards, he stopped wearing anything over his upper body (except when on winter islands). He wore black boots, black knee-length shorts with an eyelet-studded orange belt, and a blue pouch belted around his left leg. He also wore a short second belt with a large "A" on the buckle over his right hip, but leaves it unbuckled and lets the free end hang from the back. A dagger in a green sheath hung at his left hip. On his left arm, he wore a Log Pose and a red and white striped bracelet around his wrist, an orange elbow guard, and his "ASCE" tattoo. He wore a red beaded necklace and an orange hat with two blue smileys, one frowning and one smiling, and a string of red beads sitting above the rim. Two long orange side straps hung down from the hat and meet at a large medallion of a bull's skull with orange tassels hanging down from it
Ace and his brother, Luffy, were very close. As a child, Ace was protective of Luffy particularly from Garp, even insulting Garp in an attempt to stop Garp's abusive behavior towards Luffy. This protective streak continued in the current storyline. Ace first intervened to protect Luffy from Smoker in Nanohana. Later, when Ace discovered that Blackbeard meant to kill Luffy and hand him over the government, he immediately warned him that he wouldn't let him lay a finger on his little brother. Apparently, Ace had been known to frequently share stories about Luffy with the other ranks of the Whitebeard Pirates (including the Shichibukai, Jinbei). He was quite overjoyed when he learned that Luffy gained his first bounty and wasted no time showing the wanted poster to Whitebeard himself. Despite their closeness, Luffy often made Ace angry and frequently worries him by doing something reckless. Even near his death, Ace grew angry with Luffy's reckless infiltration of Impel Down.
Ace tended to portray a typical good-big-brother behavior, such as asking the crew to keep an eye on his little brother. He also ensured Luffy had a way of meeting up with him by giving him a Biblicard. They respected each other's choices despite how different they are and understand that the other is very strong, so they can usually take care of themselves. Luffy believed that if he grew worried about Ace and rushed to help, Ace's ego wouldn't allow it, so he initially left him alone even after discovering that Ace was hurt via the Biblicard. However, when he learned that Ace had been captured and was due for execution and saw that Ace's Biblicard had burnt down to a tenth of its original size, Luffy regretfully decided take a side trip and save Ace instead of sailing directly from Amazon Lily to the Sabaody Archipelago to reunite with his nakama.
It was revealed at Ace's execution that Ace actually is Gol D. Roger's son, not Monkey D. Dragon's as previously assumed, and that he was taken in by Garp. This makes Ace and Luffy brothers only through adoption, but brothers nonetheless. A flashback shows Luffy and Ace first meeting as young children, which means that Luffy is aware of this fact. It also shows Luffy having his trademark strawhat and scar under the eye, indicating that Ace first met Luffy after Shanks left Luffy's home island. A later flashback shows them officially declaring one another as their brother by drinking sake from each other's cup. In a conversation with Iva, Luffy reveals he is also aware that Ace's father is Gol D. Roger.

What a great timing to get sick when CNY is just round the corner.. =.=. I cant breathe nicely and i feel disgusted having to blow my nose every single minute. Just great.
This week has not really been a good for me.. I did not do well for my chemistry quiz and i dont have to see my account quiz's marks to know my performance. I practically flunk it. And as for economic test.. i did try my best but i not sure how best is best.. sigh.
Will properly update the blog once i settle down.. it was a hectic week for me.
